New Playtoy

I went supply shopping yesterday at my favorite art supply store and picked up some needed sketchbooks, blocks, inks, waterbrush, etc. But at the register was the cutest little thing! I couldn't believe an ART supply store would have one of these - a tiny pan watercolor set. It is 2.5" wide and 1/75" high. (first picture)

Inside are 8 teeny blocks of watercolor. And a brush. :) I just laughed it off until I saw the sample painted by an employee. I figured for $1.39 I couldn't go wrong for carrying in my purse for adding color to sketches made when I'm out shopping. ESPECIALLY if i'm using a waterbrush. Heck it even has a hole for hanging from a keychain.

Colors: white, yellow, orange, red, blue, green, brown, black.

The following two sketches were made waiting for my bus at Wal-Mart with the pan set and waterbrush. I had no support surface, just the sketchbook. I held it and the pan in one hand and sketched with the w/c - not too bad (in my humble opinion)

That is a cute little watercolor set! Looks like it will come in handy for sketching when you're out and about.

You are so lucky to have found this small set. I'm a sucker for anything small.

Is there a manufacturer mark on it? I MUST have one... I love it... I want it... not true I NEED it... sounds like it's the same size as the home made Altoids tins wc set folks make... which reminds me I need to buy some half pans for the Altoids box I made.
