Tatting Update

I've been very busy tatting small motifs to keep my hands flexible. I have discovered tatting is a great exercise for my arthritic hands. I try to do a little every day.

I just received my HallowScream thread from LadyShuttleMaker and will be very busy working it into a large doily to put my Halloween goodies on. For that reason, I thought I'd share some small things I've made recently.....

Simple Ten Ring Cross by Lenore English
http://www.geocities.com/tatt3r/cross_10rs.html?200810

Size 10 thread: 3" wide and 4" long

I was not very satisfied with this pattern. I had a lot of trouble attaching the chains to the ring picots and found the final result very blocky.

Dancing Snowflake by Darlene Polachic
Big Book of Tatting
Size 10 thread: 2 3/4" in diameter

This one was kinda fun and definitely simple. I'd like to try it in a size 20 and beads. :)

Jingle Bell Ornaments by Darlene Polachic
Big Book of Tatting
Size 20 hdt (by LadyShuttleMaker): 2 1/8" diameter

VERY SIMPLE but great for a fast work-up for my annual Blue Star Mother's Ornament Project. I need to make a BUNCH more.

This is the same ornament in a white size 10: 2 3/4" diameter. I randomly chose colors to show them off.

What fun motifs you tatted up there! The beads on the last motif look especially festive.

Aren't the small pieces fun to do? I like the different colored beads .... makes me think of multi-colored lights on a Christmas tree.

I think this one is very pretty and just enough color to. Good idea.
