Celtic Knots

This is an in-progress embroidery project. I have been working on it on and off for about two months. It is done in DMC cotton using the split stitch. The base fabric is a piece of high thread count sheet (new). It was originally intended as just a practice piece for the stitch, but is turning out MUCH nicer than I expected. :)

25 Motif Challenge (tatting)

I've been out of the loop for a while due to a MAJOR move. My husband and I moved on October 31 from Tulsa, OK to Anson, TX. We stayed with my sister for a couple of weeks as we searched for an apartment in Abilene, TX. We got moved about a week before Thanksgiving and have since been busy unpacking and organizing. Of course, I had time to create, but DH FORGOT where he had packed my scanner!!! We found and set up last night, so now I am back in full steam!

Here are a few motifs I did for an online tatting class:

Motif #9
Butterflies Are Forever Free
by Cynthia Stevenson
unknown thread name or size
1" wide
12-08
Motif #10
Star 5
from Needle Tatting Two (no name)

Motif #11
Star 5 as a 6-point Snowflake
from Needle Tatting Two (no name) - original
Carolyn McComas - variation
size 10 crochet cotton
2" wide
12-08
Motif #12
I used Delica beads on this version for just a hint of sparkle.
Star 5 as a beaded 6-point Snowflake
Needle Tatting Two (no name) - original
Carolyn McComas - variation
size 10 crochet cotton
2" wide
12-08
I have definitely become a fan of rings on chains.

Well, I'm back a little faster than last month. I am a little more settled in after the move and should be back in the swing of things very quickly. Of all the things moved, though, I STILL can't find my scanner/printer! AARRRGHGHGHHHHHH!!!!

Anyways - here is the December Fairy - enjoy and Happy Holidays.
